It was like a dream comes true moment when a rather unknown consumer electronics company Royole launch the future of the smartphone industry, FlexPai, a two-in-one flexible screen gadget at an event in San Francisco.
Korean technology giant, Samsung was all set to launch their first ever folding smartphone Samsung X, when Royole wins the race by launching FlexPai. The very idea of the future smartphone world with flexible screen is now not just a dream. It has also been rumored that the gadget king LG is also about to release their first folding smartphone in 2019 at CES.
The CEO of Royole, Bill Liu has stated that their team has been working on this idea for a long time. According to CEO Liu, their main motto was to eliminate two great obstacles of traditional smartphones, which are broken screens and problems of doing works which are only comfortable doing in big screens. He further included “Say goodbye to broken screens.”
According to recent reports, the new hybrid gadget of tablet and smartphone, the FlexPai is made of OLED screen which is printed on thin plastic material and its scratch-proof. As the gorgeous flexible screen of FlexPai is not made of glass, users can fold it like as many times as they want and it’ll still remain unbroken, shatter-proof, and scratch-proof. Another big surprise is that in normal condition the gadget is like a tablet, and being folded it behaves like a smartphone. So with the help of the hinge placed in the center of the gadget, the user can bend the screen in any angle from 0 to 180 degree. And thanks to technology, in the folded condition the FlexPai supports two different screens to show two different programmes on each part at the same time.
Also, it comes with two different sim slots which can be used as two different smartphones when the screen is folded. When it’s unfolded it works like a mini i-pad of 7.8 inches with 1,920 x 1,440-pixel resolution and when folded, we get two smartphones with screen ratio 16:9 and 18:9. Now comes the picture quality. It can be said that the two-in-one miracle gadget, FlexPai can shoot photos with the two available lenses of 16MP-Wide Angle and 20MP telephoto.
Right now the first ever folding and flexible screen smartphone is all set to create its market in China and North America. It will be available later to the other parts of the world. Being one of its kind, the new Royole’s FlexPai is very expensive. As for the base model, it costs about $1300 for the 128gb storage version. If you want to develop it with more storage, then you have to pay $1450 for a 256gb version. It also comes with Qualcomm eight-core Snapdragon processor and 3800mah battery power.
So if you are a tech lover then don’t wait anymore and preorder the future generation smartphone, FlexPai in advance. Both the base and developer models are now available in Royole’s official website. After all, it can be concluded that being the first of its own kind, the new FlexPai needs more work to improve its features and technology. Though we are very happy to know that the future smartphone generation is actually a bit more adventurous than we thought and the Royole’s FlexPai is the pioneer of it.
